Crocker, Betty. Betty Crocker's Cookbook: Everything You Need to Know to Cook Today. New York, NY: Hungry Minds, 2001. Print.
Lisa and I always used our moms' old red version of the Betty Crocker cookbook. I learned how to make great scalloped potatoes and a few other meals with that book. However, when we got married, Lisa registered for the bridal edition. I'm not sure why, and after a decade of marriage, it seems rather odd to have a bridal edition of a cookbook rather than the regular edition.
While Lisa tries to make healthy options, she also knows that the Betty Crocker cookbook is the gold standard for how to make certain meals, so she will sometimes use it with substitutions rather than some of her super-healthy cookbooks.
