For Christmas, we gave the kids the book, My ABC Bible Verses: Hiding God's Word in Little Hearts by Susan Hunt and Yvette Banek. My son especially loves his alphabet, and each page in the book has a Bible verse that uses each letter, then an explanation, a story, and follow-up questions. The point of the book is to encourage kids to learn truths from Scripture by heart, so it encourages going back and reviewing previous verses. ABC Bible verses served as our bedtime devotional reading for 26 nights (one for each letter...), and I was amazed at how excited our kids got about Bible memorization - they frequently pulled the book out during the day and quizzed each other on the verses, and I noticed that when they fought, they'd remind themselves or each other of the verse about "a soft answer turns away wrath" - incredible! As an adult, I found the storyline about Missy a bit cheesy and unrealistic, for our 4 and 6-year-old, it seemed to be relatable and fun. As I said, they were definitely applying the lessons to their lives on their own! Highly recommended!
